I feel ill be satisfied with this in my setup for quite some time so i can focus on other componets. With this amp I need some more demanding speakers to get the full experience out of it i think. Mine is near minty clean and everything works swimmingly after a quick deox.

Any one have suggestion for speaker selection, Pl. Exceptionally enjoyable amplifier! I have had two SU-V5's now, my father had a silver one that he got from a local 2nd hand shop in approx. Again the selector switch and volume control on this one are just slightly sometimes a slight problem but only until I turn them slightly again, it's hugely more reliable than my father's.
The sound is excellent, the treble is very bright and clear without sibilance through the 1 dome tweeter of my MS Pageant Series 2 speakers, and there is plenty of really deep bass without distortion, enough to make the Pageant's LF drivers move in and out a huge amount when playing organ music with 32 foot pipes.
The noise floor is undetectable through speakers or headphones in a dead quiet room. I love the fluorescent peak power meter which still works perfectly, and it's dual readout range x1, x Now for why I love this amp.
The Technics is nothing like it, there's a night and day difference. The Technics definitely has a character to the sound, it makes anything sound lively, musical, warm and engaging and exciting.

At 60 wpc and paired with sensitive Klipsch towers. Concert DVDs sounded tonally fantastic with reasonable dynamics despite a modest damping factor of 20 at 8 ohms and 40 at 4 ohms and equal power at both impedances dynamics are more than adequate sounding even authoritative.
One of the fluoro VU meters peaks a little earlier than the other but my technician said both channels were running even and that the amp's fluoros were not the best and could not be replaced or repaired, so judging for ear has since been my motto. The thing is built like a tank; at 7. Not a big fan of anything Technics except for thir CD players but this puppy proved me wrong bigtime and turned out to be a keeper.
