Followed all the great videos on youtube as a guide of how to do it. Managed to cut the hole out fairly neatly. Did all the proper priming of glass and on the van. Struggled to get the sealant to come out of the tube. Veins popping, hernia developing etc. Managed to get a fairly decent amount of the sealant around the glass and fitted it.
Light shining through! Any ideas how to fix it? This worked a treat. The left back barn door window went on perfect. Smashed it. Went through all the same process with the sliding door window and all went well. Just a bit of sealant that squeezed out of the top of the bottom edging. No probs I can cover that with the curtains.
Or, is it ok to trim it off nearly with a Stanley knife? The next window was the sliding one on the driver side of the van where the sink and hob is going. Went through all the same procedure as the other 2 that I did ok.
When I stuck the window onto the van, the right hand side as you look at it from inside the van, the sealant was on the inside of the edging. Completely missing the primed metal work of the van. I managed to smooth it down with no gaps. But as you look from the outside along the van and glass you can see the back of the edging. Any ideas as to how I may be able to fix it? Or are there any auto glazing companies that you know of that could maybe remove the glass and re attach correctly?

Is it possible to order a T6 without the small opening side windows fitted in the middle? I've had issues with these small windows leaking cover falling off, trouble closing after opening etc on my current T5.
I now don't open them so I guess won't miss them on a new T6. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. Hotel California Top Poster. VIP Member. Lifetime VIP Member. If you wish no sliding window at all i think you need to talk to your dealer but don't think he can change the factory fittings Only possibel solution think would be change it afther delivery.
But actually can't see why , that sliding window is pretty handy. Think overall you don't hear to much trouble on it , at least not on this forum. ArunAlec Top Poster. I would choose not to have them. I have had one replaced due to leaking badly and the replacement is just as bad! ArunAlec said:. Click to expand Rob H.
Messages I can't see the point in having that slider, it will rain in at some point, like the other side. I do like your optimism. I had the same issue, tried Silicone Spray as advised by many on this forum and it now slides free and easy! Messages 76 Location leominster Vehicle T6 Ocean An alternative to silicone is PTFE spray. Spray it though the 'straw', it will penetrate as very liquid but give it 15mins and it dries to a white residue, easy to wipe off overspray and will last much longer lubrication wise than silicone.
It can even be used on router cutters to prevent wood residue build up so pretty tough stuff!!!! It can be used on anything that is sticking such as hinges and because it is completely dry after intial period will not attact dust, grit etc which will accelerate wear of plastic components particularly.
I love it for lubricating bike cables and similar. It does say on it that it is safe for plastics and I've never had any issues ;- "car valeting - provides a beautiful lasting shine on interior plastic trim" Definite no to WD40 penetrating fluid Last edited: Feb 1, Right- gave it a good blast of silicone, and also took the two plastic trims off by the butterfly clip. Any idea for a plan next? Don't know if this helps, I'm sure someone else had issues with the rod mech MartG said:.
Pic from an earlier thread - is it the metal pins on the right that are catching in the runners?
